Beach-volley is a popular sport in the area, with tournaments such as the Borgovalley in Borgoricco or the Outdoor Festival at Baratti beach. Piombino Municipality offers various five-aside football pitches. Facilities for tennis are also very popular in the areas, such as the Riotorto Tennis Centre or the Ex Circolo ILVA Tennis Centre in Piombino. For those keen on walks, Podere Nonno Gino is the ideal point of departure for many trekking itineraries along the promontory, one of the most beautiful is the Cavalleggeri path.

The area is well-organized with Diving Centres that also organize island hopping tours. Moreover, the Italian Naval League is based in Piombino and it promotes and organizes many sailing related events.

Cycle Tourism is becoming more and more popular and it allows travellers to discover hidden gems at a slow and more relaxed pace. Organized tours are available in many locations however many people still prefer not to give up their autonomy and embark in independent tours.
